This is great news since it allows the general public to experiment with VR. Many indie devs will probably try to cash in on VR, so for some time VR will be seen as a gimmick used only to cash in on a craze. However, I see this as a good thing. The more concepts get thrown on the table and tried out and repeated over and over again, the more ironed out future products become and as consumers we can't complain about that. It's not hard anymore to find a quality review for a game so putting aside the stinkers isn't going to be a problem. There are many creative indie devs who put a lot of passion into their games and even if they try to incorporate some gimmicks it's going to be interesting to see how they play out. Eventually these gimmicks may get refined into game mechanics which users are so used to that they become staples for a set genre.

I myself fully embrace VR due to amazing experiences like this becoming available:

It's still very expensive but with time it will become more affordable.

Hello there Street Fighter fans! This game page is now being moderated. So if you're planning on making Street Fighter videos, no matter which game of the series, and want to get some viewers, be sure to share them here and I'll spotlight them for everyone to see and I'll pin the most active users.

It doesn't matter if you simply want to share a combo exhibition, commentary over some of the changes in the latest SF4 update or want to stream some online matches, feel free to share them!

Also one last thing. As you'll see in the attached video, you can now record replays in Ultra Street Fighter 4 and directly upload them to youtube! So that covers up any recording issues.

This is extremely good news for the Oculus Rift Just because facebook bought it and because they said that they'll try to introduce it to more types of media a lot of people started assuming that it's the death of the Oculus for gaming. No, you're wrong, it's in fact the best thing that could happen to the Oculus. Just because it's going to be advertised for other meadia, doesn't mean that it won't be used for gaming, in fact if it becomes popular for other types of media it will logically be a desired peripheral for gaming as well. And in addition to that, with Facebook's massive advertising it's going to become a lot more mainstream, thus a lot more people will want to get one. And this will encourage a lot more devs to integrate Oculus VR support for their games because it's going to be a sought out feature in a lot of games. Since the introduction of the Wii the gaming casual market had rised and with mobile gaming even more non gamers got introduced to gaming, and now with VR it's going to spark a big interest in trying out bigger titles which would allow them to get immersed into the games so this will be a very good boost for more serious games.

So all in all, it's a great thing that this deal happened and I personally can't wait to see what awesome things come out of it.
