So I’ve had this on my mind for a while, and I was curious what others thoughts were about this. UHC. It's an amazing game mode. But now that it is so easy to do that anyone can set one up without needing more then to go to google and type in, How do I set up a UHC, is it getting over done? There was a time when it was a treat that Mindcrack did a UHC, and we would get excited and hyped up and OMG!! UHC!!! But have we reached a point where we are over saturated with them? Every week almost there is a new UHC from XYZ server. And don't get me wrong, they are hella fun, But when does it go from Exciting, to just another thing that we get to see. Heck, Hypixel used to be exciting, watching people play on there was fun, but I've noticed people who do that don't get the views they used to get on their videos. So the question is what is next? Where do we go from here? Minecraft is a rich game with so much to offer, how can we fill in that next gap that is currently being left behind. Anyways, Enough rambling for now. Time to get back to work

The problem with UHC is that there is a optimal solution path and everyone follows it: Cave until you get full iron and enchanting, and then head out to fight. The result is that over a three hour game, only the last 5 minutes are significant. Some time ago I posted on Reddit an alternative game called UHC Scavenger Hunt. It has the same basic rules as UHC however the object is to collect various items in the game and then return them to a central point on the map. I had both simple items, such as a pumpkin, to complex items such as a comparator, which would require going to the Nether. The game type requires movement and combat instead of spending the entire time in a cave. But...no one was interested. Unless one of the bigger channels endorses an idea, you are spitting into the wind.

I would like to see some new kinds of challenges, probably one of the reasons I like MHC as it changes every month, but I would like to see UHC's have a different agenda.
