Forgot to put this here yesterday. This post is a bit confused, and makes me realize I don't exactly know what I want out of some upcoming games.

"There's a lot of diehard [Rollercoaster Tycoon] fans that want a PC experience, they want all different sorts of things," Chien stated. "[We're] trying to deliver as much as we can. First is the mobile version, then it's the PC experience. I think a lot of people are vocal about wanting to see the PC version first before the mobile, but our strategy is mobile first."
Yay, another blog post! Prepare for a long read! (i dont know yet if it is going to be as long as the last one, but just in case. PREPARE!)
Now lets shut off the brain and start writing! (or reading, in your case) :D
RollerCoaster Tycoon. Also a game i had early on in my gamer life. I got it in a magazine actually. With one expansion i believe. But nevertheless i bought it last year on gog.com.
For those who dont know what that game is about: Well, you have your own theme park, where you build roller coasters (duh), stuff like ferris wheels, food stalls (ice-cream, pizza, burgers, that stuff) and all kinds of other rides you can find in a theme park! You also manage the people that work for you. You can hire a handyman, mechanic, entertainer and some kind of police officer/park ranger who watches out that no one breaks stuff. Thats the main stuff, i believe.
I started playing this game just recently again, to prepare for this blog post. And it is still as good as i remember it. I started a new game on "Leafy Lake". A nice park around a lake where you start from zero. Some other scenarios already have some stuff built, but this one only has a walkway around the lake and some benches. This was the first map i played in RollerCoaster Tycoon ever, so i felt like it was a good place to start again. And yeah, it was. I had a lot of fun :)
After some time i got a nice set of rides. A merry-go-round, a Ferris Wheel, a Scrambled Eggs (or whatever it is called), a car ride, a boat ride and my first roller coaster. No one seems to like the boat ride though :(
Anyways! I get more and more visitors and of course you cant please everyone. There is always that guy who is like "Ferris Wheel 1 is not thrilling enough", ""Roller Coaster 1 is too intense for me", "I am not thirsty", "I already have a map of the park". Annoying people. You can pick them up and put them where you want. This one guy, lets call him "Visitor 529", didnt want to go on any of my rides! So i just put him to the exit of the park, so he can leave. He didnt. He just wandered around. Good thing i got a lake.... "Visitor 529 drowned" Whoops!
Thats what you get!
Apart from drowning people another fun part for me is to let my handyman clean up stuff. No seriously. I always have one of them ready to be picked up and dropped right on top of the vomit or trash that he has to clean up. I like my park clean. The worst part is the exit of the roller coasters. The paths there are always full of vomit. Stupid people not able to go to a bathroom ;___;
I had one path that had 3 exits of roller coasters leading together. Basically anyone that was on one of them would walk there (and vomit there, sooner or later). I assigned two handymen two just clean up there and still it is dirty as hell!
But enough about vomit. Thats kinda disgusting :D
I tried making a rollercoaster myself. Super expensive, but fun. Normally you simply choose a design and done. I ended up ditching my rollercoaster though. "Too intense" Bla! Nobody would ride it :( The only things i can build myself are transportation rides. Thats easy. But boring!
After a long time i ended up "winning" the scenario (you always have some kind of goal you have to accomplish, e.g. have X amount of current visitors after 3 years). You can ofcourse continue playing after that. I will most likely just play a different scenario with a different park.
Phew! Guess i'm done for now :)
Thanks for reading (if you did) and i hope to see you on a future blog post. What that one will be about? I have no idea :D I will think of something!
Take care and have a good day/night/morning :)
Coasters and cuddly gfx, what's more to ask?
