Calling all Moderately Talented Gamers! have you ever wanted to build your own Talented City? Well DeAxiom is here to show you how!!
So... casually playing SimCity and my sister comes along to ask what I'm doing.
"I'm building a city"
"Does it have a Cathedral?"
"Not yet."
"It's not a city then!"
"It's an American game.."
"I don't care! If there isn't a Cathedral - it isn't a city!"

Wait whaaat? Single player? What a revolutionary idea! I highly doubt this could revive this game since Single player has lesser to offer and it should have been implemented from the release in the first place. But some were understandable if you look at it from a anti-piracy side now. They are trying to get the most sales out of it that they can its marketing at its finest.
It's too little too late. The game had terrible reception, so they should have done a lot more to salvage the game, like gave it more content to make it look more appealing to people, so that when the announce this offline "patch" there would actually be people playing the game.
