Been playing some Star Citizen for the last couple weeks with some new friends. It's been a great few weeks as we have really been making up our content by creating scenarios for everyone to participate in. I feel as though a lot of this emergent game play is missing in today's games!
I’ve just realized that I’ve never written anything about Star Citizen before, which seems kind of crazy. I’m definitely excited about the game. I’m pretty sure this has been one of the big upcoming titles that always gets a nod when I want to mention the future of MMOs looking bright. I guess it’s just sort of an intimidating MMO to write about. There’s a staggering amount of depth to the point where even someone as long-winded as me couldn’t really hope to sum it all up in one place, and I’m far from having that complete understanding of the title at this point.
This article touches on probably the biggest and most important thing I don’t fully understand. What will groups of players come together to accomplish in Star Citizen? Not on the small-scale – I understand exploration, mining, etc… but what will guilds have as long-term goals? How will they leave their mark on the face of the ‘verse? In today’s article, I wanted to explore that idea.
