@Bovan i sometimes catch you apologizing for being "rude" when explaining stuff about dungeons and the like. Like i always say when you do it, i think you are not rude, in fact i think helping us understand how and why a mechanic work helps us understand game mechanics.

I found this video about people who act the opposite of how you act, and it reminded me of the fact that we are soooo lucky to have a nice and sometimes "rude" friend.

That was an awesome video to watch, I love these psychological videos.

But regardless it's never fun to be told what you are doing or a choice you made is ''wrong''. No one likes mistakes to be pointed out or have a so called backseat gamer breathing down their neck. I really do understand that it's not always a good thing to point out these little game related things. It can definitely create some unpleasant situations or kill the mood.

But as mentioned in the video I do firmly believe in the teach a man to fish analogy. If no one pointed out to me that staff was such a low damage weapon on my Guardian I would have ran around with a staff and greatsword for much longer than I have. I'm sure eventually I would realize the numbers weren't adding up but getting outside help definitely made me realize that much sooner. This is why I like mentioning little things here and there in the form of ''I would probably use weapon X here instead''. It's not meant in a bad way, but I feel with all the reading and researching I do I have a pretty good grasp on the theorycrafting behind these choices.

On that note I just like pointing out that I don't feel I'm a good player and that I didn't figure out most of these things by myself. I gather information from other sources be it other players like Rob, written and video guides from forums like DnT and rT, or look at general statistics and see what the community in general is doing. I definitely did not figure it all out by myself, I'm just passing on information from other sources. Issue is that my ''brake'' or ''stop'' button likes to malfunction ^^

My gamer personality: I'm a explorer-achiever, which means i: have been there, done that and have the t-shirt...in fact they have a plethora of t-shirts, badges, trophies and other rewards. EAs are the completionists of the gamer world. They like to find new places, quests, easter eggs, unlocks, maps etc. and check them off as have, visited or beaten. Like real world travelers, EAs enjoy collecting memorabilia that helps them relive their experiences later.

I'æm explorer-social.. which can surprise some person as most of poeple would have think I'm a social-explorer. But nope, got 80% explorer and only 70% social. I'm also apparently not at all reward-oriented hehe

Doesn't say much unfortunately. Bol.com always lists future releases at full price with a end of December release date unless they have an actual price/date. They do this just to have it listed on their website and people can start writing reviews and stuff. (because writing reviews while we barely saw the first 5 minutes of the game makes sense, right)

But that's exactly what I'm trying to say, bleeding overtakes the torment damage much quicker. I'd much rather have someone apply 1 stack of torment to me from that sigil compared to the 3 stacks of bleeding from Geomancy. Geomancy's damage has no RNG and will always be applied, has a longer duration and deals more damage over time. Only downside is, if someone clears bleeding all stacks of bleeding will be removed in one go.

But that was kind of my point, the torment might be a good cover-condition because several different conditions at the same time are difficult to remove. But the damage itself is very low and only a slight upgrade from Sigil of Earth (1 stack of bleeding on crit) which no one currently uses.

Oh ok, when comparing the sigils, you're right. I was just comparing the conditions.

same goes with torment though. you clear all stacks at once. I tend not to care about durations though. Sure, longer durations are easier to stack. But, in sPvP (at least I assume that's the setting we're talking about) condis tend to be cleared before they run out anyways.

In the end I'm saying the same thing though. I hate torment more than I do bleeding, but the changes won't affect too much.

As for the might changes. I used to run Valk's with zerker jewel, and force + geo sigil and Ogre runes. When the patch came, I switched to the celestial setup. You're a little more resistant, but my initial setup was still very very strong. I still used it in duels as most 1v1 servers banned celestial. But meh, imo anet misnerfed again. they just seem to have no idea how ele actually works O.o

This little post tempts me to visit gw2 again :P Been playing too much GRP, I'll be rusty as hell though...

My reason for being horrified at the torment sigils isn't so much to do with their damage output, more just how torment functions. We have bleeds and burns for DOT, no need to clutter the interface with silly conditions that require you to stand still to mitigate the damage. Warrior OH sword is already enough torment for me.
