Strife Open Beta Patch 0.4.7 Changelog

We have a patch scheduled to go live tomorrow November 4th at 10:00am, so lets get some early notes out there! There should be little to no downtime for the patch!

This patch brings two new pets to the Strife arena, along with a fierce rivalry between them. Tink buffs towers to bolster their defenses and Plunder buffs brawlers to break through them. Who will you be bringing with you to the battlefield next patch? Defend or Destroy?

Want to unlock exclusive icons for these pets? Keep an eye on www.strife.com for more details on a Pet Battle challenge! We put Plunder and Tink in a head to head brawl and the winner will be the pet with the most unlocks by the community. You’ll get icons based on which one you unlock: win or lose. This battle will only last one week so unlock fast to claim your prizes and settle their rivalry!

==New Pets==
Plunder
Plunder is a new pet who focuses on pushing down lanes. With a strong mix of defense and the ability to buff allied brawlers, players who like to buckle down in a lane and apply constant pressure will excel with Plunder.

Promote (active): Applies a buff to 5 allied creeps, granting them bonus attack damage, attack speed, and health for 15 seconds.
Pillage (trigger): Attacking an enemy hero or structure grants a small amount of gold.
Resilience (passive): Passively grants magic armor

Tink
Tink excels in defensive abilities that help heroes hold down towers when outnumbered. He also offers powerful anti-crowd control and regeneration effects. If you ever play heroes who struggle defending towers, you’ll benefit immensely from having Tink by your side.
Enhance Defenses (active): Applies a buff to target allied tower which grants it temporary bonus damage and splash damage.
Brace for Impact (trigger): Upon getting stunned/slowed, gain Crowd Control reduction for 3 seconds.
Augmented Repairs (passive): Passively improves the bonus from Out of Combat Regeneration.

-Rocket Barrage (Q): Damage reduced from 75/100/125/150 to 70/95/120/145
-Yak Attack (W): Range reduced from 1000 to 850

Moxie
-Astral Winds (E): The time for the speed boost (tapered effect) has been increased from 2 seconds to 3 seconds
-Catastrophe (R): Cast time increased from 200ms to 300ms (this was to let the animation actually finish)

Moxie deals his damage by avoiding enemies and dealing damage over time. In order to achieve this, he needs to be able to avoid getting locked down. We felt his speed boost was tapering off a bit too fast.

Vex
-Swarm Shot (Q): Mana cost reduced from 70/80/90/100 to 70/75/80/85

Blazer
-Ion Cannon (Q): Damage increased from 115/160/205/250 to 115/165/215/265
-Ion Cannon (Q): Cooldown decreased from 15 seconds to 13 seconds
-Ion Cannon (Q): Projectile radius increased from 135 to 140
-Overcharge (E): Bonus damage reduced from 55/70/85/100 to 45/60/75/90

We want to shift some of Blazer’s effectiveness over to her Ion Cannon. Hopefully this will encourage players to consider maxing Ion Cannon more often.

Fetterstone
-Crystal Shot (Q): Damage reduced from 50/70/90/110 to 50/65/80/95
-Crystal Shot (Q): Mana cost reduced from a flat 60 to 45/50/55/60
-Splinter Shield (W): Range reduced from 1000 to 800
-Splinter Shield (W): Max HP Shield increased from 12/16/20/24% to 15/20/25/30%
-Explosive Rounds (R): Damage reduced from 36/48/60% to 30/40/50% but rounds increased from 8 to 9

Splinter Shields range feels slightly long. We want the timing of this skill to favor responding to incoming damage rather than spamming it for ranged harassment. We also felt Fetterstone’s damage was slightly high.

Ace
-Spincicle (Q): Mana cost reduced from 60/70/80/90 to 60/65/70/75

Rook
-Grappling Hook(Q): Damage reduced from 75/100/125/150 to 50/85/120/155
-Deliverance (R): Damage reduced from 220/295/370 to 200/265/330
-Deliverance (R): The stun will scale slightly worse at closer ranges, the minimum down from 1 second to 0.75 seconds

The goal here was to dampen Rook’s early game burst damage slightly, without affecting his late game too much. The combination of less stun time and a bit less damage should make surviving Rook early game slightly more likely.

Cursor Visual Update
-In game cursor has been updated to help keep it more trackable while playing.

==Bug Fixes==
-Fixed a bug allowing Trixie to Barrel Roll further when pathing around terrain
-Fixed multiple bugs with enchantments for Mystic Dagger which allowed the proc effects to trigger on multiple enemies.

Spooky Halloween Dyes have been added to celebrate the season! We have added Scrimmage Mode and Captain's Mode to make playing competitive Strife more accessible to the community. You will now be able to see your own Standard Matchmaking Rating so you can set some goals for yourself and see your improvement. Included are some balance changes to Nikolai and Gokong as well! ==New Features==
Matchmaking: Scrimmage Mode and Captain’s Mode
-Take your game to the next level. Make your own 5 man team and challenge other full teams to battle in the Strife arena! This option is available to select on the Matchmaking tab. Check out the video preview here!

-Your Matchmaking Rating (previously hidden) is now visible on: the pre match screen next to mastery (per hero rating), your profile next to mastery, the player card (per account rating), the post game screen. This rating begins at 1500.

-Monkey Multiplier (R): Image damage reduced from 25/35/45% to 20/30/40% Gokong’s burst damage capabilities were too high and needed to be reduced. The crowd-control Wheel Strike offered in addition to its damage was too strong and has been toned down significantly. While Monkey Multiplier is a fun skill to use, the range and speed made it hard to play around. The reduction in range / speed in combination with a reduction his burst damage should make playing against a skilled Gokong much more manageable. Nikolai
-Reduced Nikolai’s base attack damage as well as the attack damage gained each level by about 15%
-Fixed bug which allowed enemies to cast spells during ultimate
-Earthen Slam (W): Projectile speed increased from 900 to 1000
-Piledriver (R): Damage reduced from 210/280/350 to 195/260/325
Nikolai was simply dealing too much damage for the tankiness and utility he brings to the table. This should bring him closer in line with other heroes. ==Bosses, Neutrals, and Objectives==
Brawlers
-Now spawn gradually and single file rather than all at once =Bug Fixes==
-Fixed Out Of Combat regeneration and Elixir effects that weren’t playing correctly on various hero gearsets
-Fixed cases of ability indicators not matching the actual ability size
-You may longer end up with recipes without components in your inventory
-Players will no longer leave their pets behind when terminated from the game
-Bookmarks should register properly while purchasing multiple items, which should fix instances where your bookmarked items would be purchased but no longer progress
-The camera will no longer move to nothing when clicking on a hero that is currently out of your vision
-Links that come from Twitch chat will now properly display in Strife chat rooms
-Additional functionality was added to make copying and pasting from Strife chat channels more reliable
-The F4 key is now able to be successfully bound
