Honestly since my venture into the gaming industry I have a stronger and stronger hate for the current model for the mainstream gaming industry as a whole. Devs can't make the games they want because publishers won't invest in something they don't see as sure money maker. That's why you saw countless CoD clones during the 2000's. Most of the real innovation in gaming today is done by indie dev's because they don't draw mass appeal. I honestly believe @Shatterspike has a good point and you can see this happening with PGI. Trying to make a MW5 game was going no where because publishers weren't interested. F2P is a great idea but commonly abused and thats why its always viewed with high amounts of suspicion from players. I honestly believe PGI at some point wanted to make the game they promised but the bank (IGP) is pushing them more and more into the CoD direction of mass appeal at the cost of the core community. What hurts most is this is the same thing I saw from the internal point of view of a former employer. When people spend money they see it as justification. And unfortunately people will spend money on it.
That was the big thing that Ohmwrecker mentioned in his post I linked. The Founder's program was seen by many in the community (me included) as a sort of crowdfunding effort to get a plucky little niche game off the ground. While in reality, IGP saw it as a proof of concept for a ripe whaling ground. Overall what bothers me about the pricing is the "death by inches" aspect. We had 4 phoenix mechs at about $7.50 per mech. Pretty good deal. Then there's Sabre, which is still great because it's only $5 per mech. And even the Clan pack isn't that bad at $10 per mech. But what it comes down to is that a Legendary Founder, who bought Phoenix+Sabre and the Masakari Clan pack has shelled out almost $500 and that is not included any incidental MC purchases beyond founders MC. I know that I personally have probably put about that much into the game. And when I step back and look at it, it doesn't really make me feel like I got that much out of it. I like the gameplay, but I'm not really sure I'm up for any more "sales" or "packages". When does it stop? When the game dies? How much does one player have to put up to stay "current?" If there's always an "early access" sale, it's not a reward for early adopters, it's a tax. I get enough taxes in real life, I don't need them for my video games too.

I think enough of us understand that @Hellcat420. We've all learned to reserve judgement. But... that being said the first step to something happening is the details being laid out. I like the difference in premium / normal options. Still options but you got a reason to have premium.
