OK so I have had some great feedback for a my new channel's name, from all over the internet. And in the end I had decided on Gaming with Sir Jaxxy. Then my wife wakes up and throws a monkey wrench in. One of our old business back when we sold beanie babies was Magic Bears Emporium. So @ShyBlue goes and says half awake "why not Magic Bears Gaming". I have to admit it is very catchy.

Tomorrow will be the first time, in over 5 years, that I will do Extra-Life without being on a team. I will be going live around 10am PST. Will be streaming both with my wife @ShyBlue and solo. Games will include:

Rift

Aion

Torchlight II

Dragon's Prophet

World of Tanks - First time I ever played will be LIVE!

Terraria

Hearthstone

Warframe

Awesomenauts

BioShock

Painkiller

Defiance

Not going to promise all those will be played but that is the main list I will be choosing from. I might even play games not on the list. So be sure to stop by twitch.tv/sirjaxxy for all the fun.

Of course the whole reason is to raise money for our local Children's Hospital here in Las Vegas, NV USA. If you can donate that would be great. If not then we would appreciate your support by sharing our Extra Life page below with everyone you know!

What I'm Playing, What I'm Streaming & What I'm YouTubing!

A post that was recently made by @KittenKaboomi and in it she talks about how her gaming style has changed. Well this got me thinking about how my own gaming style has evolved. I started gaming when I was only 6 or 7. My first gaming "console" was the Atari VCS which was renamed the Atari 2600. I played games like Combat, Pong, Pac-Man, Breakout. Then I fell in love with story based games like Dragonstomper on the 2600. Then I got a Vic 20 and that brought even more of these story based games. I even wrote 2 of my own games for it with a friend. Then my first "real" computer was a Mac Plus. I don't remember the name of the game but it was a crime drama in which the game starts with you coming to in a bathroom stall. There was no animation to speak of but there was tons of story and the game revolved around your decisions.

From there I had many consoles including NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PS 1 & 2, and an Xbox. I played mostly RPGs and platformers. Of course I was also playing computer games like Wizardry, Ultima, and Warcraft. Then in either 1999 or 2000 I came across a new game call Everquest. I actually was asked by a friend to help design a fan site for it. Well that is when I got into MMOs. I found myself playing more and more MMOs and less and less single player games. Until I was playing MMOs almost exclusively now or the past 3 years or so.

I still enjoy playing MMOs. However, it is mostly the ones I play with my wife @ShyBlue that I currently find myself playing. I am finding that it is hard to make friends now in MMOs because they are so spread out between so many servers. The communities have also changed and are no longer "social". It seems in the older games everyone already has their set list of who they play with. And most of the new MMOs are just not worth playing it seems. The 2 exceptions I have seen are Rift and Dragon's Prophet. Rift even though it is an older MMO with it going F2P it is bring in allot of new players so there are always people looking to group up. Dragon's Prophet because, even though it has it's issues as a new MMO it is pretty good. Problem is SOE does not seem to be promoting it so the game is close to dead. it still has some life but there just are not enough playing it right now for it to feel like the world is alive. So I have been moving back to playing single player games.

I have 2 YouTube series that I am doing in Aion. But because of trying for specific content I am playing the toons for those series solo. And while I am having fun I'm also think "Why not just go back to playing single player RPGs and action games for the series?", so that is what I am planing to do. I am still going to be putting out my Gunslinger and Songweaver Aion series. But any other MMOs I play I will be streaming and not focusing on YouTube.

As for my single player games, well that is were my Youtube content will be coming from. I have a ton of stuff I just purchased from Steam and more to come over the final days of Summer (Steam Summer Sale that is). I will be working on doing a complete Dungeons & Dragons Let's Play. It will cover 10 D&D titles that span from Baldur's Gate to Neverwinter Nights 2. That will be starting as soon as I am done with Evoland, maybe even sooner. I also picked up the complete Tomb Raider collection and will be doing a series playing through that from Tomb Raider I to Tomb Raider. There are sever other single player games I will be doing videos for like Alan Wake, The Walking Dead, Half Life 2, & much more. However, I am not sure if I'll be doing complete walkthroughs with those or something else. I will also still be putting up some Rift and Dragon's Prophet videos but most of my MMO content will be on Twitch.tv.

As for streaming, well that is were my MMO gameplay content will be centered. We will be playing Aion, Dragon's Prophet, Rift and other MMOs over at Twitch. I would like to start playing more with my viewers. I am hoping that this may help for me to reconnect to the social side of MMOs.

Well that is what I am up to. What about you?
