I borrowed this. It perpetually has "Steal" as the context to get into it.

Fallout 4 is a great game, but it is not with out it's downsides. Overall I give this game an 8 out of 10. It …

The map is actually larger than Fallout 3 and it doesn't have all the annoying underground subway tunnnels. I'm 50+ hours in and still stratching the surface. ^^

Settlement management should have been better though. I hope we get access to concrete walls and maybe some paint later on.

70+ hours in for context. I think the map size is deceptive, there are a lot of buildings that load into a separate instance that have multiple floors. The city in Fallout 3 felt deceptively small, because to get to get to a location you had to go through a number of subway tunnels. I agree with @Gyudan there, they were very annoying. By contrast, the one settlement I have (so far?) in the city allows me to build high enough to reach the building's fire escape(s) allowing roof access. Other buildings in the city also have a way up to the top, allowing you to snipe from the rooftops. It has a very close atmosphere with a lot of alleyways that were just not present in 3's city.

Half of my playtime has been on settlements and inventory management, with a large portion of the other half has been clearing out raiders that have attacked the settlements. I think there are some problems with this (our @Sigtric ) playstyle. Firstly, I've reached a stage where I'm being sent back into the same building multiple times to clear out raiders that keep coming back. It's getting frustrating having to go back to Sanctuary and have the same settler ask if I'm from the minute-men over and over and sending me into the same few buildings. Secondly, after becoming General and reinstating Radio Freedom (some 20-30ish hours in), I finally met Piper, who goes on to tell me about the Minutemen, how they were once a thing and basically does not acknowledge their revival or my involvement. In fact, none of the settlers know who I am each time I go back... which makes me a little sad :(

I think I have enough time in Fallout 4 now to have a good enough idea on how I will rate the game. This is the first time I've felt really compelled to go all out and write a review, and I'll probably do so on Steam and cross post it here later, but....

I give it 4 out of 5 possible axes. You'll have to wait and see why it got dinged. :P
