This is great news since it allows the general public to experiment with VR. Many indie devs will probably try to cash in on VR, so for some time VR will be seen as a gimmick used only to cash in on a craze. However, I see this as a good thing. The more concepts get thrown on the table and tried out and repeated over and over again, the more ironed out future products become and as consumers we can't complain about that. It's not hard anymore to find a quality review for a game so putting aside the stinkers isn't going to be a problem. There are many creative indie devs who put a lot of passion into their games and even if they try to incorporate some gimmicks it's going to be interesting to see how they play out. Eventually these gimmicks may get refined into game mechanics which users are so used to that they become staples for a set genre.


I myself fully embrace VR due to amazing experiences like this becoming available:

It's still very expensive but with time it will become more affordable.

I have been following the Ocolus Rift for quite a while now and one thing i noticed that almost no one touched the subject Multiplayer. I am really interested to see what will happen with that.
