Some people might say what I am going to say is brutal/unfair but I'm still going to post it.

To me Anook has been long dead and I stuck around for a few others I would call buddies but it seems as of late that Anook is even more dead then before. I say that any of the League nooks are lucky if they even see one post a day at this point and its sad. The site went from a growing potential to a dead site. There are hundreds of different reasons for someone leaving the site I'm sure but to me the reason it was dying was the lack of dealing with toxicity. I know that they added this "ignore" option but personally that just splits the already small community.

Now I understand that when a community grows its impossible to keep "toxicity" under control because it happens and you have to live with it. But for me the community on anook was maybe at most 100 people who used the site frequently and that is not a large enough community to really let it slide by...

Other then that as I said the site had a huge potential but fell short of their goal. I mean the quote itself is great but when I want to feel at "home" I don't want to be attacked for saying how much I dislike Zucchini.

I hate anything that controlled or made safe for the kids. LoL already punishes people when a non-popular opinion is presented. Anook was pretty much made to post different opinions. It was obvious that these 2 things don't match. People are just too sensitive these days and this fact is why people continue to leave.

I've honestly never noticed toxicity in the Anook community - possibly because I don't frequent the League forums anymore. But that might just be my experience - my games that I moderate are still alive and kicking - and, in fact, growing!

While I agree that people are overly sensitive some people are too easy to jump down someones throat as well. A while back I watched someone post about how they were "worthless to the league community" just for playing Zac support.

Can you not see how that's a "bit much". I never saw a post from that person again after being told that.

I think toxicity might be a League of Legends wide problem, not only on Anook. But as an admin I can tell you only very few reports we receive are actually violating our terms and thus are removed. Anook is far from dead for me personally, but that's because I'm active in a lot of the forums and other nooks here. :)

I agree, I believe the League of Legends Nook itself is dying, but other Nooks that I personally follow are fairly active. I'm not going to say this means the site is, or isn't dying/dead. But I feel that the League Nook itself might be.

What I can say from a personal point of view is that maybe the reason why Anook "is dying" compared to the past is because, at least a couple of years ago, there were many youtubers who where promoting this site. In fact, that's the reason why I joined. Nowadays I don't see any decently popular or major youtuber promoting this site... I'm not saying that that's something bad, just that things have changed.

I hate the word "toxicity", but it will be in every larger (50+ person, or idk) community ever. It's just the nature of humans that sometimes we are negative and such. The difference is that on the internet you have anonimity, so you don't have to face any consequences for what you say.

For this nook, the problem is that everyone posts these: their last game (whether it was great or terrible), their youtube videos (which are usually only clips, dicking around, no real discussion is needed for those), their stream, their memes, a pic they just found/did about league. And once in a blue moon you have a post like this, which actually makes people to write complex sentences.

No one even posted that Lyte and Ghostcrawler wrote a lot of shit on their ask.fm about why they don't implement anything to this game. And that the new HUD sucks.

@DropTheSkrillx I agree about the toxicity as I said. It's human nature especially with anonymity. As for what you were saying about the other posts I feel that's an issue as a community. Even if it's a clip/dicking around I feel as a community that's trying to grow we need to stay active regardless whether its just from a +1 all the way to commenting what you found the "best" about it.

@sazoru That's how I got here as well but most YouTubers turned tail because they were getting bombarded. It wasn't even funny... Imagine your Twitter just getting buttfucked by 100's of messages and not being able to stop it.

@AngelicGamer I'll take back what I said about Anook as a whole dying but what I know Anook as is dying. Anook for me has always been WoW/League based and neither of them see much love.

I joined anook because it was advertised as the 'homepage for gamers' i expected this site to be different in more of a sense that you could find every update / announcment of every game here. It wasn't. But instead i stayed for the cummunity. The problem is that Anook is missing something, the thing that keeps people on this site. This site should of grown big because of the famous youtubers that were on here Keyori, Solwolf etc.. On other social sites i can browse for hours and keep myself occupied on anook i can browse for like 30min and i get bored. Long story short, Anook is missing a key component for being a great social media and missed out big time since it could get really big by the youtubers promoting this site. I really hope that this site gets big when its out of Beta and the big YTers come back.

@Tomberkin I agree there. WoW as a whole, to me, is slowly falling off. It's still a great game, don't get me wrong, but there's parts of it that need work that aren't getting attention. -cough- pvp -cough- But that's only my opinion. As for League, I really couldn't say. Maybe people just drifted from the site, it's the only thing I can think of.

its indeed sad that the league nooks are dying. it was so big when I got here. so many people that were here and posted stuff and now everyday I look at anook. I see the same stuff from 2 weeks ago. I'm really upset that the league nooks are like this. Wish that we could have more people recognize that this website is really good. #NeverLeavingAnook

I'm still around lurking pretty much whenever I'm on a computer. I just don't post as often because people didn't like my objective look when it comes to League. Its a good site, but it's development seems to have slowed to a halt. I haven't noticed any decent new features for a while now.

Maybe we can do something to bring at least a small number of people in. Dunno what but something. Like @kennen,

I agree that it feels like the site has come to a halt and there some pretty annoying things that need fixed.

If Anook get it's shit together. I'll make a video and hopefully bring some people in but seriously I just don't see the point ATM
